ACOTAR 6 in 5 Minutes: The SparkNotes, Then a Quiz to See If You're Ready

A Court of Splintered Harmony, ACOTAR 6, comes out on Tuesday, October 27. I already wrote the long refresher, and I already made the practical checklist, and honestly? Neither is what I need right now. What I need is the short version: the things that actually matter, in five minutes, and then a way to check whether any of it stuck.
So here it is. Part one: the SparkNotes. Part two: the character roster, Dread Trove tracker, and Bloomsbury teaser drops. Part three: the quiz. No peeking at the answers until you've tried.
🚨 Spoiler Warning
This covers the series through A Court of Silver Flames. If you haven't finished ACOSF yet, save this one for later.
The SparkNotes: 8 Things You Need to Know
1. Feyre and Rhys are building something.
High Lady and High Lord of the Night Court, mated, and new parents to baby Nyx. Velaris is a found family with a baby in it now. Which, if you know Sarah J. Maas, means something is absolutely about to threaten it.
2. Nesta climbed all the way back.
She started as the sister everyone had given up on: angry, self-destructive, drowning. Silver Flames is her slow, painful, brilliant climb. She and Cassian stopped dancing around what they are and actually claimed it.
3. The Valkyries are back.
Nesta trained with Gwyn and Emerie, and the three of them rebuilt something that was supposed to be dead. This matters more than usual, because book 6 kicks off the Valkyrie cycle: these three are the ones to watch.
4. Elain's heart is the unresolved thing.
Elain is mated to Lucien. That's a fact. But the bond has never been the whole story, because Elain and Azriel have this quiet, charged thing Maas keeps writing in the margins, and then there's Gwyn, whose connection to Azriel has fans theorizing nonstop. Somebody's heart is going to break. I am not emotionally prepared.
5. The Dread Trove is unfinished business.
Three objects of terrifying power: the Mask, the Harp, and the Crown. Nesta's history with them is not done, and Maas never leaves a Chekhov's gun unfired.
6. Koschei is the name on the horizon.
Every mention of him makes my stomach drop a little. That's all you need to know, and it's enough.
7. The queens are still a problem.
The war with Hybern is over, but the politics aren't. The mortal queens made bargains, broke promises, and proved that “human” does not mean “harmless.” Prythian's peace has always been conditional.
8. Tamlin is still out there.
The Spring Court is diminished, Tamlin is grieving everything he lost, and nobody knows whether book 6 gives him redemption, ruin, or something in between.

Where We Left Each Major Character: The 60-Second Roster
Feyre & Rhysand (The River House, Velaris)
New parents to baby Nyx. After Nesta surrendered most of her death-god powers to rewrite Feyre's anatomy and save her life during childbirth, the family rift was finally mended. Rhys has made genuine peace with Nesta, and the Night Court is adjusting to having an infant heir in Velaris.
Nesta & Cassian (The House of Wind)
Officially mated and living together at the House of Wind. Nesta gave back her lethal death-magic to the Mother to save Nyx and Feyre, but she remains Made, deadly with Ataraxia, and in tune with the ancient stones of the mountain.
Gwyn & Emerie (The New Valkyries)
They conquered the Blood Rite alongside Nesta and survived the rite as champions. Emerie took back her family shop in Windhaven, breaking free from patriarchal control. Gwyn is thriving as a warrior priestess leading training in the Library beneath the House of Wind.
Elain Archeron (Velaris)
Still quietly baking and tending gardens in Velaris. She remains polite yet emotionally distant from her mated male, Lucien. Her seer abilities and internal desires remain one of the biggest mysteries entering book 6.
Azriel (Shadowsinger on the Margins)
Rhys shut down Azriel's secret pursuit of Elain on Solstice to prevent a blood duel with Lucien. Azriel regifted the necklace intended for Elain to Gwyn via Clotho. Now he is operating on dangerous solo scouting missions on the outer borders of Prythian.
Lucien & The Band of Exiles (The Mortal Realm & Autumn Borders)
Living among mortals alongside Jurian and Queen Vassa. He is caught between his loyalty to the Spring Court, his hidden true father Helion, his toxic family in Autumn, and his desire to give Elain space while investigating the cursed lake where Koschei resides.
Tamlin (The Spring Court)
Living in beast form amidst the overgrown ruins of his manor. The Spring Court borders are destabilized, and he is paralyzed by grief and isolation, though he still saved Rhys and Feyre's lives in previous battles.
The Dread Trove: Where Are the Three Items Right Now?
If you are wondering why everyone is terrified of the Dread Trove, here is where each object currently sits:
The Mask (Power over Death)
Retrieved from: The murky depths of the Bog of Oorid after Nesta defeated the kelpie.
Current location: Locked in the Night Court vaults under heavy wards. Nesta is the only person alive who has worn it and commanded the dead without losing her mind.
The Harp (Power over Distance and Time)
Retrieved from: The ancient bedrock deep beneath the Prison rock.
Current location: Secured in the Night Court. Its strings open invisible doors across space, and its 26th string can stop time itself.
The Crown (Power over Will and Mind)
Retrieved from: The evil mortal Queen Briallyn, who used it to mind-control Cassian and Autumn Court warriors before Nesta unmade her on the mountain.
Current location: In Night Court custody. All three known items of the Trove are now gathered under Rhys and Nesta's control: which makes Velaris the biggest target in the world.
The Wildcard: Koschei the Deathless needs the Trove items to break the ancient spell tethering him to his lake. He cannot leave his prison until someone brings him the Trove or breaks the wards.

What Bloomsbury's Teasers Confirmed: POVs and Quotes
Bloomsbury has been dropping quote teasers on social media in the lead-up to release day, and they tell us a ton about what to expect:
“Lucien's heart thundered, throat drying out. Maybe this had been a terrible idea.”
This confirms we are getting Lucien's perspective. Whether he is taking a reckless gamble on the mortal queens, confronting Koschei, or finally having the long-delayed conversation with Elain, Lucien is stepping into the spotlight.
“There will always be sisters lost to us, ones we pray each day will find a way home to our sides.”
Echoing both the Archeron sisters and the priestesses of the Library, this line underlines that healing and sisterhood are at the core of The Valkyrie Cycle.
“He'd gone further than he should have. Rhys and Feyre's orders had been specific: observe, but do not engage. Yet, how could he not?”
Audio previews and teasers place Azriel deep in the freezing Monteserre mountain pass, pushing his shadows past their limits against standing orders. Azriel is actively hunting answers, and he is breaking rules to get them.
